Quick question: if my lovely wife and I decided to start a Dice Monkey podcast, which would appear about once a week, would you listen?
What type of topics would you like to hear about?
Do you like a lot of banter in your podcast, or “just the facts, ma’am”?
Just wondering. It’s something we’ve been tossing around.

Though I like many of the podcasts out there, I rarely listen to any of them. I can read text all day, but quickly lose interest in voices. I’m probably a strange duck that way though.

I enjoy listening to actual play sessions. Just to get an idea of how others DM and play….

As your resident podcaster I’d LOVE to help you explore this issue some more. The podcasting community has had many lengthy discussions about how to pull off a good show and the rpg podcasting community specifically is incredibly inviting and helpful. So let me know if you’re gonna do this thing and I’ll be happy to chat you up to help you start on the right foot.
There are some essential questions to ask, however, that you can think on to make the decision to podcast or not podcast:
1. What is your show going to be about?
2. How is this different than what’s already out there (could you just do a regular contribution to an already existing show, many of them will be happy to have someone do that)?
3. What is your intended audience?
Answering those questions will help you figure out if it’s worth it. It is rather time consuming. A general rule of thumb is that for every minute you hear on a podcast the person has spent 3-6 minutes with prep, recording, conversion, upload, etc. time.
@ newbiedm: Not to plug my own affiliations, but if you like AP sessions I have three suggestions: Icosohedraphelia (http://d20.heardworld.com/), Gamers Haven (http://www.canadiancrusaders), and Fist Full of Comics and Games (http://www.fistfullofcomics.com).
